POINT OF ORIGIN
two gallons of orange juice, shelf, projected video, plastic cups
4' x 2'
2005

I am totally fascinated by the citrus industry in Florida and the mythical qualities that people from other parts of the US attribute to orange juice, especially in the winter. I examined the places of distribution and the journeys of orange juice—both real and imagined—through video and visual personal narrative. Video of Tropicana's huge distribution warehouse, fruit stands catering to tourists, supermarkets, smaller distributors of organic juice, me gleaning oranges from a local park, as well as other yet uncovered venues of juice distribution are projected onto a jug of orange juice. Viewers drink the juice and watch the video.
